This forum is a place for autoworkers to refute some of the misconceptions that are rampant, especially at this point in history, while our country is in a major economic downturn.

GM Volunteer Plus
With a philosophy of "personal time, personal choice," GM's Volunteer PLUS International program actively encourages and supports employee volunteerism in GM communities around the world. When GM employees volunteer 50 or more hours with a non-profit group, the GM Foundation makes a contribution to the nonprofit charity on behalf of the employee.

By investing personal time and talent through generous, extraordinary gifts of service, GM employees on their own have generated grants exceeding $2 million (drop time frame, it makes the number look small). The program has been implemented in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Poland, United States, and Venezuela. In 2005 it will be launched in Kenya, South Korea and the United Kingdom.
