These figures that are thrown around are certainly misleading. First, by including legacy costs, of course the US automakers are going to be higher than the transplants! We have been around longer and therefore have more retirees. Furthermore, with the concessions given in the current contract, we are close, if not equal to the transplant numbers now. (and if you consider the number of retirees they support versus us, are we not better?) This number is a non issue, and misleading.
